Where can I store my instrument?
The hotel and Residence Hall accomodations are both relatively close to Wilson Hall and those of you with lighter instruments can probably carry instruments back and forth. However, for those of you with larger instruments, Room 138 (the corner office in the practice room/office area of Wilson Hall) will be empty and ready for storage. A volunteer at the registration desk will have a key and can unlock the room for you. We are looking into the possibility of signing out lockers but these details are still being ironed out.
I have a food allergy. How can I eat safely at the conference?
Boxed lunches offered through registration are not going to be particularly safe for participants with food allergies. If you have a food allergy or Celiac disease, please contact Amy Bliss at firstname.lastname@example.org. She can help advise participants on safe options at local restaurants and good local grocery stores that cater to special diets. If a participant has no transportation options to get to safe food, she or a food allergy knowledgable volunteer can go to a grocery store to pick up the basics for meals for the duration of the conference.
Is there a location where I can pump during the conference?
Mothers can pump in the backstage dressing area of Pfleeger. Just enter the backstage door and the women's dressing room door is the second door on the left. There is a refidgerator in the office (just off the main lobby area with the glass front) where you can store your milk. Please be sure to bring your own bag to store everything in while it is in the refrigerator for easy identification. If, for some reason, the office is closed, a Rowan Faculty member or volunteer at the registration desk can open it for you.
What linens are provided if I stay in the dorms?
There is a small one-time linens fee if you stay in the dorms. You will need to bring your own pillow.
What if I don't want to stay at the Marriott or the dorms?
We also have 20 rooms blocked starting June 6 through June 10 at the Hampton Inn, Turnersville, NJ, six miles away for $129 + 15% tax = $148.35/night. There are a few other hotels in the area within six miles of Rowan University. Motel 6, (856) 881-1000 is nearest; Best Western Monroe (856) 340-7900 in Blackwood, NJ; Howard Johnson Express Inn (856) 228-4040 in Blackwood, NJ. We are looking into providing transportation through a shuttle, but please be aware that if you stay off campus in one of these hotels, you may be responsible for your own transportation to and from the conference.
